Mission of Hope Alliance for the Disabled and Disadvantage, Inc., is a nonprofit organization primarily focused on providing educational resources, job referrals, economic empowerment, and emergency provisions for people that are disabled or at an economic disadvantaged.  They serve the community through various programs and projects aimed at helping disabled and disadvantaged individuals and families. Mission of Hope seeks to help the disabled and disadvantaged in many different ways; however, the main emphasis is on the emergency (food, clothing, shelter), educational, and economic needs of our clients.  Mission of hope will do this by offering on site support, online database training, workshops, mentoring programs, and various venues to improve the  social conditions of those in need. 

Mission of Hope’s foundational purpose is to Provide the hope in Christ for families in distress by meeting their basic needs.  We believe that to triumph above life’s circumstances is only possible through a relationship with God.  In fact, we encourage all of our clients to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  We believe, from the testimonies and experiences of our members, that the process of overcoming  life’s difficulties begins with developing a relationship with Christ.  

Mission of Hope was founded in 2008 by Greg Boatwright, Sr., but it was founded out of frustration as he struggled with his own disability due to a stroke.  Mr. Boatwright could not find the services that he needed while recovering from the stroke and he decided that he would be an active participant in the solution rather than a victim of the problem and so began the development of Mission of Hope.  Mr. Boatwright further indicated that he was really inspired to move forward with the Mission of Hope through a symposium held at Georgia Piedmont Technical College by Congressman Hank Johnson.  He noted that the information that he received as well as the contacts that he made at the symposium fully empowered him to move forward with the creation of the Mission of Hope.
